Guilt

(Forever 21 headband, Theory top, MNG by Mango cardigan, H&M pants, HK pointed flats)

I know, super broken room, we're repainting and redecorating. And I know ... you're probably tired of this outfit, I keep wearing pretty much the same thing, so this is like my default "business casual" outfit. I try to switch tops though! I overwear this cardigan and pants. Hahaha. Oh and close up on shoes.

Today was our pledge orientation ... an awfully guilty day for me it was. I had to call in "sick" for work today because the orientation was mandatory and I could not miss it. So I had slept at 3 in the morning, set my alarm clock for 8:30 AM, so that I could call in "sick" and say that I wouldn't be able to come in. My manager had told me it was okay and that if I felt any better, to call and ask if I was needed to come in. So I was like okayyy, and went back to sleep.

Woke up again at 12:15 thinking that I would have plenty of time to get ready for the orientation, and I was done preparing by 1:45ish. When I called my mother to take me to school (because I have my licenses, and no car, she said that she had to stay at her business because her clients were coming to pick up their tickets and that the best she could do was to drop me off at the bus station and I'd have to take the bus from there. When I got to the bus station, the 522 had left already, and if I took the 22, I would not make it in time, so instead I call Riley to ask him where he's at and if he could pick me up. He said of course he could, but I thought about just taking the bus since I didn't want to make him late as well. And all the while I was waiting, I kept pacing up and down the bus station, anxiously waiting for him to come and worrying that I'd make him late too, even though we assured me that we still had time. Sure enough, we were late about 5 minutes. x_x - 1 point for being late. - 2 points for making Riley late as well.

At the orientation we played a mini ice breaker game, and came back in. Approximately 20 minutes later, my phone rings out of nowhere! ... and I swear ... I put it on silent! - 1 point for cell phone ringing even when asked to turn it off or on silent.

And then when elections for positions came along ... I couldn't make up my decision as to whether or not I should run. But I ended up running for VP Marketing ... until there was a position for Historian instead, and then I switched over to that instead. I had to run against Elaine, and I had lost. Our pledge parents had said that you couldn't vote for yourself, and so I voted for Elaine. We had to have the vote twice, and before the 2nd time, our pledge parent said that you couldn't vote for yourself (or at least that's what I heard) so I voted for Elaine again. So Elaine won, and I thought oh it's okay, she probably won by a lot anyways. And then later on I heard the pledge parents say that you can vote for yourself, and as a reflex, I just said, "What?! You can?! I voted for Elaine ..." And then later the actives told me that it was a tie between me and her, the ending vote ended up 10 - 11 (Me - Elaine) and they said that I was basically the one who won, but since I voted for Elaine (I was the deciding vote), she won. So had I voted for myself, I would've won. So we later sorted it out, because there was a misunderstanding on my part and it would be unfair to Elaine since she was already declared the winner. So we ended up settling that since Elaine actually wanted to be the Chairman for Fundraisers more than Historian, she gave her spot to me, and she ended up running for Fundraising and won for that, which I'm glad and happy for. I'm sure she'll do a great job. c:
